Picture this: It's a new year and you've just started back at LSE after a lovely, well-deserved winter break. You walk into your room with your shiny new phone you got for Christmas and can't connect to the WiFi. To make things more annoying, you've also forgotten how you connected in the first place!
What do you do? Rather than spend ages searching for the info, we've done it for you and gathered everything you need to know into one place. Keep reading to jog your memory.
Reconnecting
Speaking of WiFi, we know this is something that will keep coming up over your time at uni and sometimes will get lost amongst everything else. So here is exactly how you connect to the WiFi and who you can contact if you have any issues with it.
Let's not forget about the old but gold way of connecting, mail and parcels! It's important to make sure any packages you order are being sent to the right place and you know exactly how to collect them. So read this guide on mail and parcels which details the postal addresses for each hall.
The team
There are a bunch of people working to make your life in halls the best it can be. Whether it's the ResLife team who are actively supporting you and organising events you can get involved with, or the wardens who are there for any of your wellbeing needs and are a great point of contact in your halls if you have any issues. Make sure to contact either team if you are in need. The reception team in your hall is alway available for your hall specific questions, do why not swing by the reception desk?
Ground rules
It can't hurt to refresh yourself on the rules we have in place to make sure your residence is a fun and safe place for everyone. If you plan on having friends and/or family over, make sure to read over the basics of the guest policy (don't worry, it's all stuff you would probably naturally do in the first place!).
Also, this is a great time to check what's on the banned items list, as you're probably bringing back a few new bits and we wouldn't want them to cause any issues.
Top tip: If you have any issues regarding your accommodation (leaky tap, broken table, etc), we have set up an online report system for maintenance. Please report any issues you have so we can get them sorted as soon as possible.
Last but not least
So about one week after you come back, you're going to start running out of clothes or already be on your final t-shirt. Which means it's laundry time! It can be a bit of a maze navigating laundry in halls, but we have got all the info you need to make washing your clothes a breeze:
Don't forget, we also provide FREE period products in your hall that are great for the planet. Make the most of them while they're available to you.
