Everyone is welcome to attend LSE's public events, where some of the most influential figures in social sciences can be heard. This term we welcome a number of notable speakers including Dr Jake Sybryan Richards who will speak on New stories from the Black Atlantic, the award-winning exhibition on 24 October. On 28 October, a panel of scholars will discuss a new edited book, Taylor Swift and philosophy, combining top-tier philosophical research and a passion for Taylor's music. New York Times best selling author Professor Cass R. Sunstein returns to LSE on 5 December to discuss Free speech on campus.

LSE also has a vibrant Arts and Music programme, with a series of lunchtime concerts on Thursdays in the Shaw Library. These concerts regularly showcase an impressive international spectrum of musicians, and now rightly enjoy a reputation for both their quality and popularity. The current art exhibition Exposure and contrast: the Exit photography group is on display in the Atrium Gallery until Friday 31 January
