Living in London

What To Look Forward To In The Summer As An International Student?

By StudentGuest 11 Apr 2024

I am sure you must be wondering if the winter in London was this gloomy and torturous, the summer would be even worse in its own way, right? Wrong. The sun will be out, it will be hot but at least we won't be void of our vitamin D. Apart from the sun, there are alot of things that you can do alone and with your friends while the sun is out.

Picnics in the Park

The flowers will be in full bloom and the sun will be shining. Grab a tesco meal deal or make food at home, grab your friends and head on out to the many parks that London has to offer. Go to Hyde Park and sit around the Lake or go to Primrose Hill and admire the London skyline from afar while you munch on sandwiches under the sun. P.S don't forget to wear sunglasses and apply SPF.

Beach Day Trips

Take a day trip to Brighton or Seven Sisters Cliff to enjoy the sun and the water with your friends. Wear your flowy summer-y dresses and take your bathing suits along to have fun in the water and enjoy. You can grab food from the many eateries around the shore in Brighton but make sure to bring a snack to Seven Sisters Cliff and enjoy looking at the waves crashing below.

Watch a Movie Outdoor

London continues to surprise us when it comes to entertainment. There is something on every corner for every type of enthusiast. So if you are in the mood to watch Harry Potter under the stars, The Luna Cinema is the place for you. The other would be the Screen on the Canal at Kings Cross where people bring their beach chairs and towels and sit under the sun to watch a movie. These two places are not to be missed if you like old movies and spending time with your friends.

Uber Boat Ride

An uber boat ride on the Thames is another experience I would ask you to add to your bucket list for the summer. During the winter, the wind is too strong and cold for you to enjoy the experience but during the summer, it will be just perfect. So book a one way boat ride on Uber for 8 pounds to see all the bridges that line across central London for a beautiful experience.
