What's on offer, opening hours, inviting friends and more!

LSE Catered Halls

Your halls catering teams provide tasty, seasonal food which is of a high quality and we change the menu every week to ensure plenty of variety. Our halls catering always scores high in the accommodation satisfaction survey.

The halls weekly menu can be found on Halls Life and is updated every Monday during term time.

Opening hours

Our restaurants are open during term time generally between 2pm and 9pm and our friendly catering teams will ensure hot beverages are available.

Inviting friends over for dinner

Your friends are welcome to have dinner with us. You just need to simply purchase a guest dinner voucher for £7 from reception and present this to the catering staff at your hall.

Taking your food away

We always encourage students to eat together in the dining hall as this creates a stronger sense of community. However, we know you'll sometimes need to eat in your room or grab and go so you're welcome to take food away from the canteen. To do this simply bring your reusable food container the night before to the restaurant - takeaways can be collected up to 30 minutes after dinner service from Monday to Friday.

Food sustainability

We do everything we can to minimise food waste, so we kindly ask that you only take what you need. However, you're more than welcome to request seconds towards the end of the catering service (usually around 8.30pm). Some of our halls also measure food waste and you're encouraged to place anything left on your plate in the our designated food waste bins. These food waste bins weigh and analyse your food waste which contribute towards the School's sustainability targets.
