Before you arrive at your new home, we've put together all the FAQs we've been asked by students, from things you need to know before you move in, to what it's like living in London as a student.

Before you arrive
Yes! The halls' WhatsApp group chat will be available to join now. You should have been provided with the QR code or link to join in the Welcome Webinar, but contact Residential Life if you haven't.
The course is available from early September for everyone. Completing it prior to arrival is essential as you will need to book your arrival booking slot.
Due to GDPR regulations, flatmate information can't be shared before arrival. However, there is a WhatsApp group for students joining Rosebury Hall in the upcoming academic year to connect and get to know each other.
Early arrivals are allowed, and students can request an early arrival by sending an email to the Rosebery Hall email address.
Rosebery Hall specific
Reception staff and security are available 24/7. Pastoral support from the residential life team, where the Warden and subwarden team are available each evening to provide mental health support.

Rosebery offers dinners from Sunday to Friday and brunch on Saturday. They cater to various dietary needs, serve high-quality food, and regularly update the menus. If you cannot attend dinner, you can contact the catering staff, and copy the reception team in the email, with your option for dinner and room number. You can then ask a friend to collect it for you.

Absolutely! The provided video tour by a sub-warden showcases room possibilities and how you can make Rosebery feel like home.
Communal facilities include shared kitchens with hobs, microwaves, toasters, and kettles. Kitchens are cleaned daily, and washrooms are available on each floor.
There are small rubbish bins in each kitchens with instructions on how to recycle. You can leave your rubbish in the kitchen next to the bins. Any large boxes need to be disposed in the designated large bins located in the car park.

Yes, there is a cost for using the laundry facilities. It costs £2.80 per wash and £1.40 for drying.
Initially, guests won't be allowed for the first two weeks of the Autumn Term, so you can get to know your flatmates. There isn't a curfew, but quiet hours are observed from 11 PM to 8 AM to respect others' need for rest and study.
Parents are welcome to help with move-in, and there will be refreshments for them. However, they can't stay overnight due to the guest policy, which prioritizes space for students during the first few weeks.
In the rooms, you will find a sink, but appliances like microwaves and toasters are available in the snack points shared by residents. You cannot have a rice cooker, kettle, coffee machine, fan heater or heated blankets in the room as they are a fire hazard. You can store them unplugged in the room.
You can use the rice cooker, kettle and coffee machine in the kitchen area only.
There is no charge for using the common room spaces, and they are available for residents to socialize and relax.
Yes, students are allowed to have a fridge in their room. There is a charge of £20 per term for the additional electricity usage, and students need to inform the hall staff if they plan to bring their own mini-fridge.
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the residences, including fish. Pets must be left with friends or family during the stay at Rosebery Hall.
Students can view and select their accommodation when booking. You can choose between the Rosebery and Middleton wings and view the available rooms before confirming your selection. The Middleton wing is non-refurbished (carpeted) and Rosebery is refurbished (non-carpeted).
Rosebery Hall has a bike shed where you can store your bike whilst living in the hall. You can collect a key from the reception desk that you will need to return it upon checking out of the hall.
You can send mail to the hall after you have checked in to the hall. You will need to put your room number on all your mail and parcels. You can then collect it at the reception. Please note due to storage limitations, you will not be able to send parcels to the halls ahead of your check-in date
