Get in touch if you want to organise a group run!
1. Regent’s Canal Run
What’s great about this run?
- Continuous running that takes you away from the intensity of city life.
- It is impossible to get lost on this run.
- Almost completely flat. So it you hate hills, this run is for you.
- This is an out-and-back run so you can make it as long or short as you like. You can run 1k, 2k or make it your regular 5km. You can follow the towpath all of the way to Walthamstow wetlands 30km ish.
Just remember:
- Don’t run this in the dark, you can’t see a thing and might end up swimming.
- Saturday and Sunday midday are very busy on the canal towpath, avoid if possible.
- Watch out for the cyclists!

2. The 3 parks run (10 km)
This run takes you up into 3 of North London’s nicest parks. They aren’t showy like Regent’s or Hyde Park, they are the kind of green spaces that most Londoners have on their doorstep and cherish.
Why do this run?
- You get to tick off 3 parks in one run.
- The run starts off with a gradual incline and when you swing round after Finsbury Park, there is just one short sharp hill before Highbury Fields and then it is all downhill.
Just remember:
- Again, only in daylight.
- There is a small entrance to Gillespie Park up a flight of stairs outside of Finsbury Station that s easy to miss, have a look on Street View before you set off.

3. Easy 7km route (the run I actually do)
This is my go-to 5 km route. No frills just an easy loop.
This route takes you through the beautiful streets of Islington up to New River Walk and through Highbury Fields and back down Upper Street.

4. Highbury Fields Park Run (weekly community 5km)
Park Run is one of the most successful health and community initiatives currently operating in the UK. Each week at 9 am on Saturday (yes, early but worth getting up for) at many parks all over the UK, there is a free 5 km run.
Our closest Park Run is at Highbury Fields, which is a short bus ride or jog away.
Join 100s of other runners for a free 5 km run that is timed and recorded online on your own profile.
If you want to feel part of a local community/ do what Londoners do then download your barcode from their website and go along. Park Run is known for being inclusive and welcoming to new runners.
