Hello, my name is Vsevolod Martsenik and I am a Vice-President of the Hall Committee. I know that arriving in a new city could sometimes not be so easy, therefore, I prepared a small list of useful shops to make your first weeks easier.
Food
Sainsbury's Local
This is one of the closest shops to our hall, approximately 2 minutes walk. The list of goods in the shop is limited it generally consists of food and snacks.
Opening hours:
Monday 5pm - 10pm
Tuesday – Sunday 7am - 11pm.
Co-op Food - Finsbury - Tysoe Street
As close as Sainsbury's Local (2 minutes walk), but has a wider list of available goods. Nevertheless, it is still a mini-market. The list of available goods you can check on their website.
Opening hours:
Monday 5pm - 10pm
Tuesday – Sunday 7am - 11pm
Waitrose & Partners Islington
Waitrose is 11 minutes away on foot and has a selection of basic food. I would recommend checking Waitrose & Partners Islington and Sainsbury's (see below) since it is also close and prices for the same type of products may vary. This could save you some money buying some things in one shop and another part in another.
Opening hours:
Tuesday – Saturday 7am - 10pm
Sunday 11:30am - 5:30pm
Sainsbury's
This Sainsbury's is an 11 minute walk and is a bigger version of the Sainsbury's Local with a wider list of goods. As far as I noticed this shop has one of the lowest prices for cheeses.
Opening hours:
Tuesday - Saturday 7am - 0am
Sunday 11am - 5pm
Marks and Spencer
This is the MOST expensive supermarket I've come across, but it has really nice food and a good selection of pre-made meals that you can just heat in the microwave/oven.
Opening hours:
Tuesday - Friday 8am - 9pm
Saturday 8am - 8pm
Sunday 11am - 5pm.
Stuff for your room and kitchen inventory
Since sheets and pillowcases are not included in Rosebery Hall, you may want to buy them. One of the closest and the most convenient options is Argos. Additionally, you can buy a knife for the kitchen there. It may seem a bit hard to find a knife on the shelves. The reason for this is regulation. Also, if you want to buy a knife you should bring your passport to prove that you are over 18.
Argos Angel Islington
There you can buy bedding and kitchen stuff if you do not want to go to IKEA.
Small life-hack: it is better to check the catalogue of the products online and find the closest available shop to buy them and collect them. Also, you can order a delivery, but if it is not something heavy I prefer to collect it by myself since it is only 11 minutes on foot. If the product is unavailable in Argos Angel Islington check at the Argos Old Street store.
Opening hours:
Tuesday – Friday 9am - 8pm
Saturday 9am - 6:30pm
Sunday 11am - 5pm
Argos Old Street

The closest pharmacy to the Rosebery Hall. If you need to buy something urgently it is the best option.

I hope this small article was useful for you!
