It's that time of the year again, when we welcome new and continuing students to our halls! Lucky for you, bookings can be made directly via our student accommodation portal.
Let's walk you through everything you need to know about booking a room at LSE:
1. Before you start your booking 📋
- You can book accommodation if you have accepted your offer to study full-time at LSE next year (if you are a new undergraduate student, this means you must have listed LSE as your firm choice in UCAS).
- You'll make your booking as either an individual student or a couple in a relationship (one of you must be an LSE student).
Additional things you can do:
- If you need to apply for accommodation as a family with up to two children.
- If you need to apply for accommodation for students with disabilities or other support needs.
- If you'd like to be considered for an LSE Accommodation Bursary.
Booking guarantee for new undergraduate and General Course Students
- If you are a new undergraduate or General Course student and book by the deadline, we guarantee you will secure a place.
The booking guarantee deadline for 2026/27 is: Tuesday 9th June 2026.
2. Research our halls 🏠
Research the halls and room types so you're ready to make your choice when beginning the booking process. You can filter halls by room types on our Search Accommodation page.
3. Book your room via the student accommodation portal👩💻
To book, you need to:
- have accepted your course offer at LSE more than 48 hours ago
- have your LSE Public Account details to hand (new students will be invited to create a Public Account by the LSE Admissions team as part of the application or offer acceptance process)
- have your 'LSE for You' (LFY) login details to hand (continuing students only)
During the booking, we'll ask you to:
✅ Check the details we have about you are correct
✅ Make an individual or couple application
✅ Select a room from the personalised choices
✅ Accept the terms and conditions (this step will save your booking in the system)
✅ Pay a deposit
Depending on your circumstances, you can also:
- disclose any disabilities or other support needs (this will give you access to the GP assessment form)
- book to arrive early, subject to availability
- you are an incoming first year undergraduate with an unconditional offer
- you are an incoming postgraduate
- you are a continuing student
- your booking is with a third-party hall (they will contact you directly about the deposit)
- you are an incoming first year undergraduate with a conditional offer (we'll contact you to pay your deposit once we receive notice that your offer has been made unconditional)
4. Complete your booking 🎉
You must complete you 'Confirmation of Accommodation' process to finalise your booking. You will receive an email in August or September 2026 to invite you to do this. You will need to review and acknowledge the document in your online account within the given deadline
Note: If you don't do this, we will cancel your booking. Also, you cannot make any changes once you've booked, so after you have accepted the terms and conditions, your room type and hall are fixed.
