What is Too Good to Go?
Too Good to Go is an app that allows people to purchase leftover food at a discounted price. It's a great way to try out new restaurants without breaking the bank. Here are some of the best places I've tried so far.
1) Marrakesh Grill - Farringdon
£ 4
📍99 Leather Ln, London EC1N 7TS
🍽️ Rice and chicken bowl with cauliflower, cucumber, onions, pickles, and the option of spicy sauce
⏰ Pickup Window: 2pm - 7pm
✏️ Admittedly, I've had this bowl three times. The portions are generous and it's usually enough for two meals. This bowl is almost always available in the app and the pickup window is long so it's perfect for a quick and inexpensive lunch. It also only adds about 4 minutes to the route between Rosebery and LSE.
2) Sweet Boulangerie & Patisserie
£ 3.99
📍64 Exmouth Market, Farringdon, London EC1R 4QP
🍽️ Meat Sandwich, Brownie, Pasta Salad, Chocolate Almond Croissant
⏰ Pickup Window: 4:30pm - 5pm
✏️ I found the sandwich to be just okay, but the pastries were delicious after being warmed up in the microwave.
3) Rose & Rose
£ 4
📍400 St John St, London EC1V 4NJ (near Angel Station)
🍽️ Chocolate Croissant, Almond Croissant, Cinnamon Role, Cheese Pastry, Spicy Salmon Roll x 2, Seafood Salad
⏰ Pickup Window: 2:00pm - 3:30pm
✏️ I was shocked by the amount of food I was given! I've only tried this place once so I'm not if this is typical or if I happened to get lucky.
4) Chai Guys
£ 3.39
📍Seven Dials Market, 35 Earlham St, London WC2H 9LD
🍽️ Cup of hot chai, cinnamon roll, savory croissant
⏰ Pickup Window: 9:00pm - 9:15pm
✏️ Chai Guys is not near Rosebery but is located in Seven Dials Market, just a 13 minute walk from campus. I've gotten it twice and both times I was given a sweet and savory pastry and was allowed to choose which hot drink I wanted. Among the options for hot drinks were masala chai and hot chocolate.
