Heading home for Christmas?

What are your Winter Break plans?

It's almost Christmas!

So it's time to start thinking about your plans for the Christmas holidays. Whether you travel home to spend it with your family and friends or are wanting to stay with us, there are a few things that you should know.

If you're going home for Christmas...

You can only leave one suitcase with us, so it's important that you pack as efficiently as possible. Make sure you have enough clothes and essentials to get you through the holidays at home. This includes any medication, electronics and university work. This is also a good opportunity to take home any bedding and towels home to be washed so you can make use of the limited amount of items that can stay with us.

As you won't need to take home any decor items, your duvet or pillows, it might be a good idea to put them in a spare suitcase and keep them here. You don't want to end up travelling with an unmanageable amount of stuff, so try to utilise your packing space as much as you can.

It shouldn't take too long to clean your flat before you leave either. It would be helpful to plan ahead so you can use up all of your groceries and empty out your fridge-freezer. You also might want to think about using up your toothpaste, soap, shampoo and conditioner so you don't waste any if you need to throw it away. We want this process to be as easy as possible for you.

If you're thinking about staying with us...

If you'd planned to go home, but changed your mind and would like to stay over Christmas instead — you will have to book your stay at your hall reception and the additional price will be confirmed when you book. We can't guarantee that you will be able to stay in your term-time room, however you will be advised if you need to move rooms so you can have time to prepare.

Although it may be quieter during this time, there are still lots of positives to staying with us during the holidays. It is the perfect time to fit in some focus time and power through your coursework whilst there are limited distractions. You can also take more time to explore the city, visit London's Christmas markets and make new friends. Even breakfast is included during Christmas time!

Whether you choose to go home or stay with us for the holidays, we hope you have a magical Christmas.
