British Heart Foundation: how to donate

Supporting the Reuse Revolution

Believe it or not, 25% of people in the UK have no preloved garments in their wardrobe. The British Heart Foundation plans on changing this by spreading the word on how to properly shop and donate preloved items. This is the perfect time for a clear out as well, with a lot of LSE students about to move out of halls. So here's how you can easily rehome all your preloved items and make your move out even smoother.

Make use of your local donation points

BHF donation boxes/bins and clothing banks provide the perfect sustainable solution for decluttering as you prepare to move out of your accommodation. The British Heart Foundation’s network of 712 shops and stores means that they can help find new local homes for pre-loved treasures, whether it’s quality clothes you no longer wear, a unique piece of jewellery, a tablet or exercise equipment. Don't worry about whether it's in season or not (eventually everything comes back into season anyway), as every item sold will be turned into funds for life-saving science and help support the 7.6 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases.

You can find donation points on campus for LSE students:

There is a British Heart Foundation donation box on the first floor of SAW (SU) and ALL LSE-managed halls of residence have collection points, known as “ReLove” points, for you to donate your items to give them a second life.

You can also donate to your local BHF charity shop which is located in Camden:
