Do you love live music, but haven't quite figured out how to enjoy it in London without dropping £60+ on concert tickets? This article features five unique spots that are perfect for enjoying live music for free or under £20!
Albert's Schloss
My absolute favorite location to stop by for some FREE live music is Albert's Schloss in Soho! In my opinion, Wednesday nights at the Schloss are the best vibe. It doesn't get too crowded (like it does on the weekend), and you can dance all night to disco covers performed by their amazing house band! A full performance schedule is available on their website.
Blue's Kitchen
Another amazing spot for FREE live music is Blue's Kitchen. This London staple has locations in Brixton, Camden, and Shoreditch. I've been to their Shoreditch location several times and their live musicians are incredible, typically performing jazz, blues, and soul. Check out their website to see which music events are open for free entry.
Pro tip: Tequila Tuesdays are a great deal, with £6 margaritas on offer all night!
Old Blue Last
The Old Blue Last is a pub in Shoreditch, putting on FREE concerts every Tuesday in January 2026 as part of their "Hello 2026" series. Bands featured this month will be "ones to watch" throughout the year. In the past, bands like Wolf Alice played in this concert series, so don't miss it!
The Troubadour
The Troubadour is a pub in West London with a rich music history. Since its doors opened in 1954, musicians such as Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin have taken to the Troubadour stage. Today, you can hear genres like folk and jazz performed at the Troubadour for tickets typically ranging from £9 to £20.
Rough Trade East & Rough Trade West
I had the chance to visit Rough Trade East in October to see one of my favorite artists, Dodie, in an intimate acoustic concert for £20 (including a signed CD). Rough Trade is a really unique venue, being that it's primarily a record store. They also have a small cafe where you can get a coffee or a pint. Check out the Rough Trade website to see all performances coming up at their East and West London locations. Ticket prices are typically less than £20.
