My Top 3 Running Routes from Rosebery Hall

Posted 1 hour ago

Victoria Park, Regent's Park, and the Thames River

Spring has finally sprung, and with the days lengthening and the sun shining, a run is a great way to explore the neighborhood and get some fresh air during exam season. Here are my top three runs from Rosebery Hall.

1) Regent's Canal to Victoria Park

  • 9.6km to Victoria Park and back; additional 4km for each loop around the park

This is easily my favorite running route (I do it at least once a week) because once you reach Regent's Canal, there are no stoplights or streets to cross. Start by running to Angel and turn right onto Duncan Street, just before the Whole Foods. From there, it is ~4km along Regent's Canal until you reach Victoria Park. I'll often turn around here, but the loop around Victoria Park is ~4km, and there is a smaller loop that is ~1.6 km.

The Victoria Park Market is every Sunday, 10am - 4pm. In total, it's ~5k from Rosebery to Victoria Park Market, making it a fun end destination or midpoint for a weekend run. You can grab a coffee or something to eat, sit in the grass, and either jog or walk back to Rosebery. There are also (at least) two water fountains along the outer loop of the park.

Consider checking out Towpath cafe, which is located right on the canal and serves breakfast and brunch Wednesday through Friday.

2) Euston Road to Regent's Park

  • 12km from Rosebery to Regent's Park and back, with one loop around the park; each loop around

Start by running along Rosebery Avenue, making a right on Farringdon Road (which turns into Kings Road) until you hit Kings Cross Station. From there, make a left on Pentonville Road (which turns into Euston Road) until you hit Regent's Park. It's ~3.7km to Regent's Park from Rosebery and ~4.4km around the perimeter of the park. I'd recommend doing this on a weekend morning since it gets busy along Euston Road, especially near Kings Cross.

3) Thames River Out and Back

  • 4km to the Thames River and back

This is a short out and back from Rosebery to the Thames River. The run can easily be extended by running along either direction of the Thames. If you run across Blackfriars Bridge and make a left, you'll find yourself not far from Borough Market, where you can end your run with a snack or sweet treat.
