Laundry Dos and Don'ts at urbanest Westminster Hall

Come every weekend to the two laundry rooms (one on the basement and one on the 18th floor) at urbanest Westminster hall and you will find they are occupied every second! Doing laundry sounds very mundane, but we can’t go without it. There are some basic dos and don’ts that every resident of urbanest Westminster should keep in mind:

1.       Plan your laundry time: Planning in advance one’s laundry time and what to do during that time is important for time management. Sort your clothes and check the wash labels on them before leaving for the laundry room.

2.       Using the Circuit Go App: Circuit is the current laundry service provider, and it is advisable to download and use their app Circuit Go. Opening an account with them and charging it with a balance is always a better payment option than using a contactless card as it is very streamlined and there are no disruptions to the transactions. The app uses Bluetooth and gives you notifications of the washing process. Also, it records all transactions for reference.

3.       Removing lint from the dryer’s filter trap: After every use the filter in the dryer gets clogged with lint which is nothing put small fabric shreds from clothes. It is a byproduct of drying. Not removing it means that for the next person who uses the dryer, the entire process would take longer (more time means more money!). Drying process is also very energy intensive, and lint is a fire hazard. Just remove it with your hands or scrape it off with some paper or wipes.

4.       Removing the clothes from the washer or dryer on time: Leaving behind clothes inside the washer is something that happens often. Often, many residents start the washing process and then forget about it. It is very inconvenient for others as they keep waiting for the washer or dryer to get free. Remove the clothes on time and don’t forget to remove all of them.

5.       Keeping the laundry room tidy: this is a basic etiquette that everyone should be mindful of. On busy days, like on weekends, the laundry room could get littered easily. Trash bins are kept both inside and outside the laundry room for this reason.

While doing laundry you can take a break from your studies and enjoy the best thing about being at urbanest Westminster – the awesome view from the 18th floor terrace! Happy laundry!
